Interfaith Harmony conference held in

SARGODHA, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 2nd Jun, 2026) An interfaith harmony conference was organized here on Tuesday to promote peace, religious tolerance, and unity among different schools of thought during Muharram-ul-Haram.

The conference was held under the auspices of the divisional administration and attended by a delegation of the Interfaith Harmony Committee led by provincial Khateeb Maulana Mukhtar Ahmad Nadeem.

Senior civil and police officials, including Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali, Regional Police Officer Shehzad Asif Khan, and Deputy Commissioner Hussain Ahmad Raza Chaudhry, participated in the event alongside deputy commissioners, district police officers, religious scholars, spiritual leaders, and members of peace committees from across the division.

Addressing the gathering, Maulana Mukhtar Ahmad Nadeem described Muharram as a month of blessings, sacrifice, and spiritual significance.

He stressed the importance of strict adherence to the code of conduct for religious gatherings and processions, noting that unity and consensus are essential for national security, stability, and development.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Hafiz Shaukat Ali assured that all Muharram processions and gatherings would be monitored to ensure compliance with designated schedules and government-issued standard operating procedures (SOPs).

At the conclusion of the conference, participants reaffirmed their commitment to promoting peace, religious harmony, and brotherhood during Muharram-ul-Haram.

Special prayers were also offered for Pakistan's security, stability, development, and unity.
