Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, emphasises importance of unity among Muslims
LAHORE: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 19th, 2026) The eighth annual inter-sect Iftar dinner was organized by Khayal-e-Nau, an organization advocating unity, peace, and tolerance, under the patronage of Maulana Syed Abdul Khabir Azad. The event brought together members from various schools of thought to promote interfaith harmony and brotherhood.
Addressing the gathering, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, who also serves as Chairman of the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee and Khateeb of Badshahi Mosque, emphasized the importance of unity among Muslims. He stated that “we are all brothers, and our hearts beat together. True essence of our faith lies in unity.” He warmly welcomed all distinguished guests and prayed for the acceptance of their presence.
Renowned personality Dr Qaiser Rafiq attended as the chief guest. While appreciating the remarkable contributions of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, he highlighted that peace, love, and brotherhood are essential for Pakistan’s progress. He termed all efforts toward unity as highly commendable.
Founder of Khayal-e-Nau, Syed Hunain Zaidi, expressed gratitude to Maulana Azad and reiterated the organization’s mission to spread the message of unity across the country.
He shared that the initiative has inspired many organizations nationwide to hold inter-sect Iftar gatherings annually.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahzad Roshan Gillani, Secretary Information and a young social activist, stated that this meaningful Iftar at a historic venue holds a unique significance among Ramadan gatherings. He further added that with the support of religious leaders and national institutions, there is a vision to set a global record for interfaith and inter-sect harmony at the Badshahi Mosque.
Participants from various sects offered prayers led by Maulana Abdul Haziq, son of Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad.
The event was attended by President Khayal-e-Nau Asad Awan, along with Aamir Kazmi, Meesam Shamsi, Wajahat Shah, Khawaja Osama Zeeshan, Tahseen Qadri, Shariq Ali Lahori, and others.
The gathering concluded with special prayers led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad for the peace, prosperity, and stability of Pakistan, as well as prayers in support of Iran.
