Interior minister directs NADRA to assist LEAs to deport illegal foreigners

Mohsin Naqvi says immediate identification of those who illegally obtained Pakistani citizenship must be ensured, and such individuals should be removed from the national database

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 31^st, 2026) Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday directed NADRA to fully assist law enforcement agencies in the deportation of illegal foreigners.

He made the remarks while chairing a meeting during his visit to NADRA headquarters in Islamabad.

The Interior Minister said immediate identification of those who illegally obtained Pakistani citizenship must be ensured, and such individuals should be removed from the national database.

Mohsin Naqvi noted that NADRA’s services have significantly improved over the past two years.

He instructed to introduce more modern services for public convenience. He said NADRA’s state-of-the-art offices should be built on their own land instead of rented buildings.

On the occasion, it was informed that NADRA has taken several measures to improve service delivery. Millions of identity cards of deceased people have been cancelled.

A thirty day period has been set to resolve ID card-related issues.

With PTA’s cooperation, mobile SIMs issued in deceased persons’ Names, are being blocked.
