Interior Minister Naqvi orders swift completion of projects during FIA headquarters visit

ISLAMABAD: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-March 28th, 2026) Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Headquarters on Friday, where he inspected the ongoing infrastructure improvement initiatives and reviewed their progress.

During the visit, the interior minister directed the concerned authorities to ensure the timely completion of all construction and development work.

Chairing a meeting at the FIA Headquarters, Mohsin Naqvi also emphasized the need for strict action against corruption within government institutions. He instructed that a zero-tolerance approach, in line with the Prime Minister’s vision, must be implemented across all public sector organizations.

He further stated that the ongoing reform process within the FIA will be finalized by December this year. He directed officials to monitor all overseas employment advertisements through online platforms and to raise public awareness to prevent citizens from being misled by fraudulent or deceptive job offers.

Highlighting the role of the FIA, the interior minister said the agency should function as a frontline institution in combating organized crime in all its forms. He assured full institutional and administrative support to strengthen its operational capacity.

In a briefing to the minister, FIA Director General Dr. Usman Anwar said that comprehensive data regarding individuals involved in human smuggling, along with their facilitators, has been compiled. He added that a transparent accountability mechanism has been put in place within the organization.

He also informed that coordination committees and working groups are being formed in collaboration with other relevant agencies. According to him, modern technological tools are being employed to effectively tackle crimes related to illegal immigration, human trafficking, and money laundering.
