ABBOTTABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Apr, 2026) Intermittent rainfall continues to lash Hazara Expressway and various parts of Hazara Division since last night, bringing a significant drop in temperatures while also posing serious hazards for travelers and residents alike.
The ongoing downpour has made roads slippery, particularly on the Hazara Expressway, increasing the risk of accidents. In several areas, rainfall has triggered landslides, blocking roads and disrupting traffic flow. Meanwhile, flash floods have been reported in some low-lying regions, forcing residents to remain inside their homes as a precautionary measure. Authorities have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and stay indoors, especially in flood-prone and landslide-vulnerable areas.
Motorists traveling on the expressway during this wet spell have been advised to keep their speed low and maintain a greater distance from the vehicle ahead.
They should also ensure that their vehicle's lights and wipers are in proper working condition. Sudden braking must be avoided at all costs.
Drivers are further urged not to use mobile phones and to maintain full focus on driving.
In case of any emergency or assistance on the motorway or highways, travelers are urged to contact the National Highways & Motorway Police Helpline at 130. The administration has also advised residents living near hilltops and streams to remain vigilant as the weather is expected to remain unsettled over the next 24 hours.
