Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz says on March 26, Israeli forces conducted a precision operation in which Tangsiri, along with several senior naval officials, was killed

TEHRAN: (UrduPoint /UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – March 30th, 2026) Iran on Monday confirmed the death of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy commander Alireza Tangsiri, who succumbed to severe injuries, according to Iranian media reports citing an official statement issued by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz said on March 26 that Israeli forces conducted a precision operation in which Tangsiri, along with several senior naval officials, was killed.

The latest developments come amid escalating tensions following joint U.S.-Israel actions against Iran that reportedly began on February 28.

Israeli officials have also recently claimed that several high-ranking Iranian personalities, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior security figure Ali Larijani, were among those targeted in ongoing operations.

In recent days, Israeli strikes have increasingly focused on Iran’s naval infrastructure, including assets deployed in the Caspian Sea.

The reports suggested that multiple vessels—ranging from missile-equipped ships to patrol boats and support craft—were damaged or destroyed, further intensifying regional tensions.
