Islamabad parks open for families from March 20 to 23

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration have announced special arrangements for the public on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 2026, allowing families to visit key parks during specific days.

According to a notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, three major parks in the Federal capital will operate as family parks from March 20 to March 23, 2026. The decision aims to facilitate families during the Eid holidays and provide a safe space for recreation.

The parks included in this arrangement are Shakarparian National Park, Lake View Park, and Daman-e-Koh Park. During this period, entry and activities in these locations will be managed to ensure that families can visit without disruption.

The notification states that the move has been approved by the District Magistrate of Islamabad. Officials have been directed to ensure proper implementation of the decision during the specified dates.

Relevant departments, including the Capital Development Authority and Islamabad Police, have been informed to make necessary arrangements. Traffic management and security measures are also expected to be in place to handle the expected increase in visitors.

The step is part of efforts to manage public spaces during Eid and support families planning outings within the city.
