Israel Defence Minister Israel Katz made this claim, saying that Larijani was specifically targeted during the latest round of attacks.

Israeli media earlier reported that the Israeli military had struck Larijani, but said it was not immediately clear whether he had been killed or injured.

Iranian media, however, dismissed the claims, stating that the reports were inaccurate and adding that an official message from Larijani would be released soon.

Separately, the foreign media reported explosions in central areas of Tehran, though there was no immediate confirmation regarding the exact locations targeted or the extent of damage.

Earlier in the day, another Pakistani was killed in missile debris incident in UAE

A Pakistani national was killed after debris from an intercepted missile fell in the United Arab Emirates, authorities confirmed.

According to the Emirati officials, the country’s air defence system successfully neutralised a ballistic missile attack. However, fragments of the missile landed in the Bani Yas area of Abu Dhabi, resulting in the death of a Pakistani citizen.

With this latest incident, the total number of fatalities in recent attacks in the United Arab Emirates has risen to seven.

The officials said that three of the victims were Pakistani nationals. One Pakistani was killed in Dubai, while two others lost their lives in Abu Dhabi amid the ongoing tensions.
