ITP issues diversion advisory for movement of foreign cricket teams in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd May, 2026) Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued a traffic advisory in connection with the movement of foreign cricket teams in the Federal capital, warning citizens about possible traffic disruptions on major roads at different times of the day.

An ITP official told APP on Friday that traffic diversions would be placed on Club Road, Murree Road, Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway due to security arrangements for the visiting cricket teams.

The official said traffic flow on these highways could remain affected during diversion timings and advised citizens to plan travel with an additional 20 to 25 minutes to avoid inconvenience.

He urged commuters to use alternative routes and service roads during traffic diversions for smoother travel.

According to the official, Islamabad Traffic Police personnel would remain deployed on roads to facilitate citizens and maintain traffic flow during the movement of teams.

The official further advised citizens to stay updated through the Islamabad Traffic Police WhatsApp Channel, Islamabad Police social media platforms and ITP FM 92.4 for latest traffic advisories and route information.
