ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Apr, 2026) Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) issued an important traffic advisory, announcing diversions on Islamabad Expressway and Srinagar Highway, along with closure of the Red Zone and its extended areas due to heightened security.

An ITP official told APP on Saturday that entry of all public transport had been banned on Expressway, while transporters were directed not to stop at bus stops or loops. He said the Red Zone and extended Red Zone had been completely closed for all kinds of traffic. The official said the following major routes had been closed for traffic:

Kashmir Chowk Club Road towards Zero Point/Srinagar Highway

Srinagar Highway from Zero Point to Serena Chowk

Shakarparian Road from Chand Tara Chowk to 7th Avenue

Jinnah Avenue from Khayaban Chowk to Blue Area

Margalla Road from Faisal Chowk to Trail-3

He urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during this period to prevent inconvenience.

The official appealed to the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure smooth implementation of security measures.

He added that traffic updates would be available through Islamabad Traffic Police’s WhatsApp channel and Islamabad Police social media platforms.
