PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Jun, 2026) Police in Jamrud have recovered fake Pakistani Currency worth Rs300,000 and arrested a suspect during a checkpoint operation, officials said on Friday.
According to police, the operation was conducted as part of an intensified crackdown against criminal elements across Khyber district under the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber, Waqar Ahmed.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>During a routine checkpoint operation, personnel of Nawab Shah Shaheed Check Post stopped a suspicious individual and recovered counterfeit Pakistani currency worth Rs300,000 from his possession.
The suspect was identified as Inam, son of Farooq, a resident of Safaid Sang Shagai, Peshawar.
Police shifted the accused to the lockup after his arrest and registered a case against him. Further investigation is underway to determine the source and intended circulation of the fake currency, officials added.
