Jaranwala observes Ashura peacefully amid tight security

FAISALABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Jun, 2026) Youm-e-Ashura was observed across Jaranwala with religious devotion and reverence

on Friday as 37 mourning processions and six religious congregations concluded peacefully

under security measures.

A police spokesman said that more than 300 police officers and personnel remained deployed

and the central procession remained under continuous surveillance through CCTV cameras and drone monitoring while security teams carried out strict inspections of Sabeels.

Rescue 1122 spokesman said that Rescue 1122 implemented a comprehensive emergency response plan by deploying three ambulances, two fire vehicles and one specialized rescue vehicle along the procession route.

Nine rescue posts were established while 70 rescue personnel remained on duty to provide immediate medical assistance and respond to any emergency, he added.

A spokesman for the health department said that Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Jaranwala established special emergency beds for Ashura while ambulances and medical teams remained stationed with the central procession.

Officials and technical staff from FESCO, Municipal Committee, Sui Gas Department, Fire Brigade and Pakistan Telecommunication authorities also remained on duty to ensure the uninterrupted provision of essential civic and utility services.
