Joint operation leaves three high profile terrorists dead; three cops martyred

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) In a major security operation, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, the Elite Force and the Counter Terrorism Department conducted a joint action in the mountainous areas of Kabal Gram district Khyber, killing three terrorists, including highly wanted militants.

According to police, the operation was carried out in difficult terrain following intelligence reports about the presence of terrorists in the area. All three militants were neutralized during the operation.

Police said that one of the killed terrorists, Noor islam, identified as a ringleader of Fitna-al-Khawarij, had a bounty of Rs5 million on his head.

During the operation, one terrorist detonated himself in an attempt to evade arrest. In the ensuing heavy exchange of fire, three police personnel including Maqbool Ahmed, Fida Hussain and Saeed-ur-Rehman were martyred while performing their duties.

Police claimed that the presence of terrorists in Kabal Gram indicates they were planning a major terrorist activity, which was successfully thwarted due to timely action by law enforcement agencies.
