JUI(F) organizes protest rallies in KP against martyrdom of Sheikh Idress

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2026) In response to the call of Jamiat Ullema-e-Islam (JUI)F, protest rallies against martyrdom of Sheikh Idrees (RA) were held on Wednesday in all districts of the province.

According to JUI provincial spokesperson, Abdul Jalil Jan protest rallies were held in Charsadda, Mardan, Nowshera, Swabi, Haripur, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Kohistan, Battagram, Torghar, Shangla, Swat, Buner, Upper Dir, Lower Dir, Chitral, Malakand, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Bannu, Lakki, Marwat, Karak, Hangu, Kohat and tribal districts.

Speakers at the rallies expressed their deep concern over the deteriorating law and order situation across the province.

The murderers of Sheikh Idrees (RA) should be arrested immediately. The unrest in the province is a clear proof of the incompetence and negligence of the rulers.

The martyrdom of scholars and government actions against madrassas are taking place every day, they added.

Meanwhile, a large protest demonstration was led by Provincial Information Secretary Abdul Jalil Jan, District Ameer Syed Miskin Shah, General Secretary Maulana Ahmed Ali Darwish, former Mayor Haji Zubair Ali Inamullah, Advocate, former Tehsil Nazim Kaleemullah and other leaders from Peshawar Namak Mandi Mosque. Slogans against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government were raised on this occasion.

The leaders, while speaking, held the provincial government, administration and state institutions responsible for the martyrdom of scholars and said that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam is being punished for standing with the state constitution and law.
