Five diesel-powered double-decker buses, imported from China, handle this. Each carries 115-120 passengers. Features include full air-conditioning, women’s sections, and an upper deck with openable roof for nice weather.

Stops cover Malir Halt, airport, Colony Gate, Natha Khan Bridge, Drigh Road, Nursery, Baloch Colony, and Finance and Trade Centre. The route spans about 22 km along one of Karachi’s busiest corridors.

This extension was pushed by Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, who is in charge of transport. He supervises the quicker public transport. This fits 2026 plan of adding more roads with double-deckers, electric buses, and high demand.

There are 100,000 passengers who are served in Peoples Bus Service every day. The double-decker service was introduced late December 2025 or early January 2026 with almost 50 years without them in Karachi.

Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasizes the enhanced convenience of the citizens. He also promotes Yellow Line BRT and aims at completion of Red Line by March 2026.
