The city continues to remain under a severe spell of hot and dry weather conditions, with temperatures soaring and humidity levels dropping significantly

KARACHI: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – May 4th, 2026) The city continues to remain under a severe spell of hot and dry weather conditions, with temperatures soaring and humidity levels dropping significantly.

Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted that the mercury in Karachi has reached 43°C, while the humidity level has fallen to just 7 percent, intensifying the impact of the ongoing heatwave.

Officials said that hot and dry winds are blowing from the northwest at a speed of around 19 kilometres per hour, further aggravating the weather conditions across the city.

The minimum temperature recorded during the night stood at 29°C, indicating persistently high temperatures even during nighttime hours.

In view of the extreme weather, medical experts have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor movement. They recommended staying indoors during peak heat hours, increasing water intake, and using protective measures such as covering the head when stepping outside to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.
