SYDNEY: (UrduPoint/UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News-April 7th, 2026) Karachi Kings captain and Australian cricketer David Warner has been charged with drink driving after being stopped by police in Sydney, according to Australian media reports.

The incident reportedly took place in the Maroubra area, where police conducted a breath test on the cricketer while he was driving.

Although Warner had pulled over before reaching the designated testing point, the officers proceeded with the test, which allegedly returned a positive result.

Following the test, authorities registered a case against him and briefly took him into custody before shifting him to a local police station.

The local media further reported that Warner is scheduled to appear before a court on May 7 to face the charges.

The Australian opener is currently leading Karachi Kings in the ongoing Pakistan Super League. He had travelled to Australia for a short break during the tournament and was expected to rejoin his team on April 9.
