Karachi matric exams 2026 started finally today, April 10, after an edgy week of administrative hiccups and computer crashes. As thousands of students sat their first paper, there have been continued widespread reports of changes in exam centres and missing admit cards at the last minute that have been causing deep distress throughout the city.

Chaos at the Gates: BSEK Matric Exams Underway

The first bell rang this morning for the SSC Part-II (10th) Computer Studies paper, but the atmosphere at many of the 530 centers was far from calm. Despite the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK) shifting the matric exams April 10 2026 start date to ensure a “transparent” process, parents report a nightmare scenario.

Admit Card and Center Crisis

Families are scrambling after finding their BSEK exam center change notices arrived just hours before the exams. Many students reached their schools only to find they were reassigned to distant locations. This follows the admit card delay BSEK experienced last week when the board’s transition to a digital system caused the BSEK official website to crash. Schools were forced to manually collect slips after the portal failed to handle the load of 385,000 candidates.

Minister Issues Warning to Board

The mismanagement sparked a fierce reaction from the Sindh government. Muhammad Ismail Rahoo BSEK Minister for Universities and Boards, issued a notice to the Karachi board yesterday. He slammed the board for “gross negligence” and “poor planning.” The minister gave the BSEK Chairman three days to submit a report or face disciplinary action. He specifically highlighted the Karachi board matric chaos and allegations of corruption in center allocations.

Revised Schedule Details

According to the revised matric schedule Karachi, Science Group students appear in the morning shift (9:30 AM), while the General Group follows in the afternoon. The SSC datesheet 2026 BSEK confirms that exams will continue until May 6. For now, students are advised to use the Karachi matric exam centre list provided on their latest physical admit cards and arrive 30 minutes early to avoid further displacement.
