KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Apr, 2026) Residents of Karachi, the country’s largest city and economic hub, have paid glowing tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces as the nation prepares to mark the first anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq,” which they described as a decisive response to alleged Indian attacks on civilian areas carried out under the pretext of the Pahalgam incident.

Citizens said “Marka-e-Haq” was Pakistan’s befitting response to Indian aggression from April 22 to May 10, 2025, adding that India was compelled to halt hostilities after the destruction of several of its warplanes.

Speaking to APP, residents noted that Pakistan’s armed forces delivered a strong and effective response, demonstrating that any hostile designs against the country would be firmly countered.

Gul Khan, a resident of Saddar, said that under the leadership of Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s Army, Air Force, and Navy—backed by the full support of the nation—gave an unprecedented response to India. He termed “Marka-e-Haq” a shining chapter in the country’s defence history, reflecting national unity in safeguarding sovereignty.

He further stated that India targeted civilian populations in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir in violation of international laws, while Pakistan, during “Marka-e-Haq” and Operation “Bunyan-un-Marsoos,” focused on Indian military installations. He also claimed that Rafale aircrafts were shot down after violating Pakistani airspace, drawing global attention.

A 50-year-old shopkeeper from Saddar Bazaar, Atiq-ur-Rehman, described “Marka-e-Haq” as a major military success for Pakistan and a continuation of the spirit of the 1965 war. He said the outcome made it clear that India could neither win nor sustain a prolonged conflict with Pakistan.

He added that Pakistan’s armed forces have long been combating Indian-backed terrorism along both eastern and western borders, with thousands of military personnel and civilians sacrificing their lives. He also accused India of staging incidents from Uri to Pahalgam to implicate Pakistan, but failing to present credible evidence before international forums.

Professor Muhammad Hussain, a resident of Gulistan-e-Johar, praised both the armed forces and the government, stating that the nation would continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with its military against any aggression.

Similarly, Muhammad Saleem from Gulshan-e-Iqbal said Pakistan had effectively exposed what he called India’s “false propaganda,” adding that even within India, opposition voices had criticized the Modi government over the outcome.

Another resident, Aamir Ali from Old Sabzi Mandi, said Pakistan’s armed forces remain ever ready to defend the country, and “Marka-e-Haq” stands as proof of their preparedness and capability. He added that the nation would actively participate in the celebrations announced by the government.

Meanwhile, preparations are underway in Karachi, like other cities across the country, to mark the anniversary of “Marka-e-Haq.” Political and social organizations, the business community, and civil society are planning rallies and seminars to commemorate the occasion and pay tribute to military personnel and martyrs.

Educational institutions, including universities, colleges, and schools, are also planning special programs, including rallies and seminars, to highlight the achievements of the armed forces during “Marka-e-Haq.”
