PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) District authorities in Karak have intensified efforts to eradicate polio by launching direct outreach initiatives targeting families refusing vaccination during the ongoing anti-polio campaign.
Acting Deputy Commissioner Karak, Sahibzada Samiullah, along with the In-Charge N-Stop Officer, visited the Chambi area of Union Council Mitha Khel to review chronic refusal cases reported during the campaign, according to an official handout issued on Thursday.
During the visit, the acting deputy commissioner met parents who had previously refused to vaccinate their children and urged them to cooperate with health teams.
He said polio remained a dangerous disease that could cause lifelong disability and stressed that every citizen had a responsibility to support eradication efforts.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Samiullah said the government was utilizing all available resources to protect children from the poliovirus and ensure that no child remained unvaccinated.
He also advised parents to avoid misinformation and rely on guidance provided by medical experts and health authorities.
According to the district administration, several families were persuaded during the visit to allow their children to receive polio drops.
Polio teams were directed to maintain continuous engagement with refusal cases and further strengthen awareness campaigns in the area.
The acting deputy commissioner also praised frontline polio workers for continuing their duties despite difficult conditions and directed relevant officials to tighten monitoring mechanisms to ensure access to every child as part of efforts to make Karak polio-free.
