MIRPUR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Mar, 2026) Chairman of the Brussels-based Kashmir Council Europe, Ali Raza Syed on Wednesday stated that the Jammu and Kashmir dispute remains a longstanding and globally recognized issue that can never be forgotten. Moreover, in a statement issued in the context of the current regional situation, particularly tensions in the middle East, he stressed that the international community must seriously acknowledge and address the rights of the Kashmiri people.
Meanwhile, he urged Kashmiri leadership and diaspora, especially those residing in Europe and Western countries, to actively unite and highlight the issue on global forums. He emphasized that sustained and coordinated efforts are essential, while cautioning against diverting attention toward other global matters at the expense of the Kashmir issue.
Furthermore, Ali Raza Syed strongly remarked that the people of Kashmir continue to face oppression and deprivation of fundamental freedoms. Despite these grave challenges, he said, Kashmiris remain committed to their right to self-determination and stand in solidarity with other oppressed communities around the world.
The KCEU chairman also reiterated the need for a peaceful resolution of all disputes, emphasizing that wars and violence are not viable solutions. He firmly called upon the international community to play a constructive role in resolving the Kashmir issue, noting that lasting peace in the region is vital for the stability and prosperity of South Asia.
