MIRPUR (AJK) , (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point news - 15th Apr, 2026) A France-based Kashmiri organisation has praised Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts and said that the country contributed to easing tensions between Iran and the United States.

Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Forum France and a former coordinator to the prime minister of Azad Kashmir for Europe, Chaudhry Naeem Akhtar told media in Paris that Pakistan’s “peace-oriented” foreign policy had strengthened its regional standing.

He said recent diplomatic developments — including progress towards a ceasefire between Iran and the United States — alongside ongoing engagements in Islamabad, had highlighted Pakistan’s “positive and responsible role”.

Akhtar added that Pakistan had taken steps to improve security and diplomatic relations, which he said had contributed to an improvement in the country’s passport ranking.

In contrast, he criticised India’s foreign policy, claiming it had come under pressure and criticism domestically.

He said political groups, including the Indian National Congress, had voiced concerns over the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

He said Pakistan’s foreign policy was based on dialogue, peace and regional stability, and argued that this had enhanced the country’s global standing.

Akhtar added that Pakistan would continue its diplomatic efforts to promote cooperation and stability in the region.
