ISLAMABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd May, 2026) Kashmiri political and human rights activists have rejected allegations made by India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA), terming the charges false, baseless, and politically motivated.
Talking to APP, Kashmiri leaders said that India has used these accusations to silence voices supporting the Kashmir cause.
They stressed that their work focused on political advocacy, human rights, and the peaceful representation of Kashmiris.
The activists said that raising concerns about Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir does not amount to terrorism.
They accused India of trying to suppress free expression by linking political activism with terrorism.
They also criticized what they described as a coordinated campaign against them on social media.
The leaders said that Indian authorities are spreading misleading narratives to label peaceful activism as extremism.
They further stated that India’s communication with social media platforms reflects its concern over growing global attention on Kashmir.
The statement included the Names of several Hurriyat leaders, including Abdul Hameed Lone, Altaf Hussain Wani, Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, Mubeen Shah, Faheem Kiani, Mukhtar Baba, and Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat.
