PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th May, 2026) In welcoming news for cricket fans in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pakistan Cricket board has officially approved the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions League (KCL), a move expected to promote cricket activities across the province.
According to official sources on Wednesday, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions League will begin on August 14 in connection with Independence Day celebrations and the " Mareka e Haq, the Battle for Truth commemorations. The tournament final is scheduled to be played on August 23. All the matches will be played in Peshawar.
The event is expected to provide young cricketers from the province with an excellent platform to showcase their talent.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Six strong teams from across the province will compete for the title, including Abbottabad Eagles, Swat Titans, Peshawar Panthers, Khyber Warriors, Mardan Challengers, and DI Khan Stallions.
Organizers said the league will offer thrilling matches for cricket fans while also promoting positive activities and sports culture in the province.
They further added that the KCL will play a key role in discovering young talent and strengthening cricket culture in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Several international cricketers are also expected to participate in the tournament.
