Key Customs challenges discussed at Sialkot chamber meeting

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Syed Ahtesham Mazhar, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), along with Muhammad Murad Arshad, Senior Vice President (SVP) SCCI, and Salman Sheikh, Vice President (VP) SCCI, held a meeting with Syed Shakeel Shah, Member (Customs Operations), Federal board of Revenue at SCCI President office.

During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on key customs-related issues affecting exporters, particularly under the Export Facilitation Scheme (EFS).

The business community highlighted concerns regarding frequent changes in HS Codes, delays in reconciliation and IOCO approvals, issues in quota management, and challenges in clearance of duty-free samples.

The members also emphasized the need for improving laboratory testing procedures, ensuring continuity of green channel facilities, enabling consolidation modules at Sialkot, and simplifying processes related to returned goods and insurance guarantees under EFS.

Various practical proposals were presented to streamline procedures, reduce delays, and facilitate exporters.
