MUZAFFARABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 21st May, 2026) Kashmir Global Council (KGC) will organise a community engagement event in Houston on May 24 to raise awareness about the Kashmir dispute and highlight human rights concerns in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.

KGC president Farooq Saddiqi told APP by phone on Thursday that the event, being held under the theme “New Voices. New Approaches.”, is expected to bring together members of the Kashmiri diaspora, community leaders, professionals, students, activists and media representatives for discussions on advocacy, diplomacy and international engagement regarding the Kashmir issue.

KGC President Farooq Siddiqi will address participants on the historical and political dimensions of the dispute and stress the need for a peaceful resolution in accordance with the United Nations Charter and the principle of self-determination.

According to organisers, the programme will include interactive discussions, question-and-answer sessions and community networking activities aimed at promoting awareness and encouraging constructive dialogue on Kashmir.

The organisation acknowledged the support of Arif Azeem, Mahajabeen Zaidi and Shahaab Qarni for their role in arranging the event.

KGC said the initiative seeks to encourage fresh perspectives and broader international engagement on the Kashmir issue through peaceful advocacy and dialogue.
