Khanewal hosts seminar on youth leadership under Punjab’s “Year of Youth 2026” initiative

KHANEWAL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) In line with the Government of Punjab’s declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Youth,” the District sports and Youth Affairs Department Khanewal organized a dignified and impactful seminar on youth leadership and character building. The event was held at the Conference Hall of the University College of Management and Sciences on Kabirwala Road, Khanewal.

The seminar aimed to promote positive thinking, leadership skills, ethical values, and responsible behavior among young people, empowering them to play a meaningful role in the progress and development of the nation.

Assistant Commissioner Khanewal, Rohit Kumar Ganita, attended as the chief guest. In his address, he described youth as the architects of the future and emphasized that the Government of Punjab is actively working on initiatives focused on youth welfare, training, and constructive engagement. He urged young individuals to embrace education, discipline, and strong moral character as guiding principles in their lives.

The seminar featured prominent motivational speakers, including Naeem Iqbal Naeem, Dr. Umair Asghar (Rector, University College of Management and Sciences Khanewal), Dr.

Riaz Ahmed (Lecturer, Emerson University Multan), Mian Muhammad Majid (Principal, Government High school Special Education Khanewal), and District Sports Officer Muhammad Hafeez. The speakers highlighted the importance of effective leadership, positive mindset, self-confidence, and integrity, stressing that strong character forms the foundation of a successful society and a brighter future.

Among the attendees were Aamir Ramzan Sandhu, Tehsil Sports Officer Khanewal, and Muhammad Majid Aslam Gujjar, Tehsil Sports Officer Mian Channu, along with a large number of students and young participants who actively engaged with and appreciated the speakers’ insights.

Concluding the event, District Sports Officer Muhammad Hafeez extended his gratitude to the distinguished guests, speakers, teachers, and students. He noted that such constructive initiatives play a vital role in guiding youth and shaping their personalities.

Participants also lauded the Government of Punjab’s “Year of Youth” initiative, calling it a positive and hopeful step towards empowering the younger generation.
