Kidnapped infant recovered, three including woman arrested in Abbottabad

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2026) Police in Abbottabad have succeeded in recovering a 17-day-old infant abducted from the Women and Children Hospital a day earlier.

Police said on Wednesday that three suspects, including the main female accused have been arrested in connection with this heinous crime.

According to police, the incident was immediately taken up by the district administration and the District Police Officer (DPO) Abbottabad formed special investigation teams under the supervision of SP Cantt Hamza Ali Butt.

The teams launched an investigation using modern scientific methods and professional policing techniques, enabling them to gather crucial evidence within a short period.

Acting on intelligence, police conducted a raid in Khatwal area within the jurisdiction of Nawanshehr Police Station and safely recovered the kidnapped newborn.

During the operation, the main female suspect and two of her accomplices were taken into custody. Police said further investigations are underway to determine the motive behind the abduction and identify any additional facilitators involved in the crime.

The infant's family expressed relief and gratitude following the child's safe recovery and praised the swift and effective response of the police. Local residents also commended Abbottabad Police for their professional performance.

Police said that a thorough investigation is continuing and that strict legal action will be taken against all those found responsible.
