King Charles has paid over $41 million since ascending the throne in 2022.
King Charles has made history by becoming the first reigning British monarch to publicly disclose details of his personal tax contributions, as Buckingham Palace responds to growing public scrutiny over royal finances and property arrangements.
According to palace officials, the King has paid more than $41 million in personal taxes since taking the throne in 2022. The disclosure comes amid heightened attention on the Royal Household’s financial dealings and asset management.
In a separate development, Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles and Queen Camilla are unlikely to relocate to Buckingham Palace after its extensive taxpayer-funded renovation. Instead, the royal couple will continue residing at Clarence House as their main residence.
Officials clarified that Buckingham Palace will remain the official administrative and ceremonial hub of the monarchy, hosting state functions, receptions, and key royal engagements.
Meanwhile, Prince William has also released financial details of the Duchy of Cornwall, outlining a long-term strategy focused on housing, environmental initiatives, and community development projects across the United Kingdom.
The report further revealed that income generated from Dartmoor Prison, which forms part of the Duchy’s rental portfolio, will be redirected toward supporting local communities.
