KKKU holds first convocation, 253 graduates awarded degrees

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th May, 2026) Khushal Khan Khattak University (KKKU) Karak held its First Convocation awarding Degrees to 253 Graduates and Gold Medals to 75 high achievers in a landmark academic ceremony.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi attended the event as chief guest.

He said that youth represent the country’s most valuable asset and stressed that the provincial government is taking practical measures to strengthen higher education and research opportunities.

The ceremony was also attended by Members of the Provincial Assembly Khurshid Khattak and Muhammad Sajjad Barakwal, along with the faculty members, parents and dignitaries from various sectors.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalili presided over the Convocation.

He noted that the university had achieved significant academic progress in a short span of time and was working to establish itself among the country’s leading higher education institutions.

According to university officials, degrees were conferred across multiple programmes, including BS, BA, BSc, B.Ed, MS, MPhil, and Master’s disciplines.

The minister also announced plans for a paid internship programme for fresh graduates and indicated an increase in higher education funding in the upcoming provincial budget.

He further inaugurated several development projects, including the energisation of an 11KV Feeder, Solarisation of the Administration Block, and the Establishment of a Neurofeedback Clinic—described by the administration as the first of its kind in any public sector university in Pakistan.

The ceremony concluded with graduates pledging to contribute their skills toward national development and progress.
