Kohat administration praises Eid cleanliness efforts; Police solve shop theft case

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th May, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir on Friday expressed satisfaction over the Eid-ul-Azha sanitation arrangements after reviewing cleanliness operations in various urban and rural areas of the district alongside Tehsil Municipal Officer Muhammad Javed Betani.

During the visit, officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner about the timely removal of animal offal, waste disposal measures, and municipal services being carried out throughout the district. He appreciated the efforts of all Tehsil Municipal Administrations, particularly TMA Kohat and Water and Sanitation Services Company Kohat, for maintaining cleanliness and ensuring a hygienic environment for citizens during Eid celebrations.

The Deputy Commissioner said that providing residents with a clean and healthy atmosphere during the festive occasion remained the district administration’s top priority.

He also acknowledged the dedication of sanitation staff who remained deployed in the field throughout the Eid holidays.

Meanwhile, Kohat police traced a shop theft case reported on Eid day within the jurisdiction of City Police Station. Acting on the directions of District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi, SHO Saifullah and his team arrested two suspects, identified as Shahab and Umar, using modern investigative techniques, intelligence gathering, and informant networks. Police recovered stolen Suzuki engines, gearboxes, other mechanical parts, and the vehicle used in the crime before returning the recovered items to the complainant. The suspects were shifted to City Police Station for further investigation, while police said more disclosures were expected during interrogation.
