Kohat administration steps up action against illegal mining, reviews health facilities

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jun, 2026) Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kohat, Muhammad Nawaz, chaired a high-level meeting to curb illegal placer gold mining in the district. The session was attended by senior officials of the district administration, Mineral Department, Forest Department, and other relevant authorities.

Heads of departments briefed the participants on the challenges posed by unlawful mining activities. The DC directed strict legal action against individuals involved in such practices, emphasizing the need to safeguard natural resources and ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

Later, the Deputy Commissioner visited the Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Togh Bala, where he inspected the emergency ward and other sections.

He reviewed the availability of medicines, cleanliness, and administrative arrangements.

Issuing directives on the occasion, Muhammad Nawaz stressed that patients must receive timely treatment and medicines, staff should remain present on duty at all times, and courteous behavior towards patients must be ensured.

He also instructed the health staff to further improve standards of sanitation and public service delivery so that citizens are provided with maximum facilities.
