Kohat DC presides over key meetings to enhance service delivery, crack down on illegal mining

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Kohat on Wednesday chaired an important online meeting under the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Initiative on District Service Delivery, therefore reinforcing efforts to improve public services across the district. The session was attended by officers of the district administration, line departments, and other relevant institutions.

During the meeting, ongoing welfare and service delivery projects were reviewed thoroughly, while departments were directed to ensure immediate, transparent, and sustainable solutions to public issues. The deputy commissioner emphasized that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening governance and enhancing service delivery at the grassroots level. Moreover, all departments were instructed to adopt a coordinated strategy, ensure timely completion of projects, and submit progress reports regularly, warning that negligence would not be tolerated.

In a separate session, the deputy commissioner chaired another significant meeting focusing on the prevention of illegal placer gold mining. Officials, including the District Police Officer and representatives from the Forest Department, participated and highlighted key challenges.

The deputy commissioner directed strictly that legal action be taken against those involved in unlawful mining activities, however, stressing the need for effective enforcement mechanisms.

Meanwhile, on the directions of the deputy commissioner, Additional Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Ibrahim Khan visited the Service Delivery Centre in Lachi, where he inspected property transfer records and interacted with citizens. Public feedback was reported as positive, and the performance of the Tehsildar was appreciated, consequently reflecting improved service standards at the facility.
