Kohat farmers receive modern farming technologies under KDDP

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th May, 2026) Modern agricultural inputs and farming technologies were distributed among farmers in Kohat under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa District Development Plan (KDDP) during a ceremony held at the Agriculture Extension Department Kohat on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner Kohat, Muhammad Nawaz Wazir, attended the event as the chief guest and distributed support packages aimed at promoting climate-resilient and high-yield farming practices in the district.

The packages included demonstration plots for groundnut and sunflower cultivation, walk-in tunnel facilities and vertical farming structures. Agricultural experts also briefed farmers on modern cultivation techniques and highlighted the productivity and efficiency benefits associated with walk-in tunnel technology.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir said the promotion of modern agricultural technologies and continued support for farmers were vital for enhancing crop production and ensuring sustainable agricultural development in the region.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the agriculture sector and said initiatives focused on farmers’ welfare and technological advancement would remain a priority.

He added that improved access to innovative farming tools, modern techniques and training opportunities would help farmers increase productivity and contribute to the district’s economic growth.
