Kohat marks ‘Bunyan-ul-Marsous’ anniversary with rally, crackdown on illegal mining and facility inspections

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 7th May, 2026) A large and dignified rally was held in Kohat on Thursday to mark the first anniversary of Ma’raka-e-Haq “Bunyan-ul-Marsous,” expressing strong solidarity with the Armed Forces of Pakistan. The event was attended by Commissioner Kohat, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz, Pakistan Army officers, district administration officials, local elders and a large number of citizens.

Participants paid rich tribute to the sacrifices and professional excellence of the armed forces, reaffirming national unity and patriotism through slogans in support of Pakistan. Speakers emphasized collective resolve for the country’s stability and security.

Separately, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz chaired a high-level meeting to review actions against illegal placer gold mining in the district. The meeting was attended by the District Police Officer, officials from the district administration, Mineral Department, Forest Department and other relevant authorities. Officials briefed the forum on challenges posed by unlawful mining activities.

The deputy commissioner directed strict legal action against those involved in illegal mining to protect natural resources and ensure compliance with environmental laws. He stressed that no negligence would be tolerated in safeguarding public assets.

Meanwhile, Additional Assistant Commissioner Darra Muhammad Arif inspected Government High school Akhorwal (TSD), where he reviewed staff attendance, laboratory facilities, cleanliness and the overall learning environment. He instructed staff to maintain discipline and hygiene while assuring improvements in educational facilities.

He also visited several health facilities including the Civil Veterinary Dispensary Akhorwal, BHU Akhorwal, Civil Veterinary Hospital Zarghoon Khel and Civil Hospital Zarghoon Khel. During the inspections, he checked staff presence, medicine availability and service delivery, directing authorities to ensure cleanliness and timely provision of healthcare services to the public.
