Kohat Police arrest most-wanted proclaimed offender in double murder case

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) Kohat Police on Tuesday arrested a most-wanted proclaimed offender involved in a high-profile double murder case during a targeted operation conducted within the jurisdiction of Mills Police Station.

Police sources said the crackdown was launched on the special directives of District Police Officer Shahbaz Ilahi to intensify action against proclaimed offenders and criminals involved in serious offences across the district. Acting on intelligence reports, a police team headed by SHO Khizer Fareed carried out raids at various suspected hideouts and successfully apprehended the absconding accused through a coordinated strategy.

The arrested suspect, identified as Nehal, a resident of Merozai, was wanted in connection with a firing incident that occurred at Bakizai Chowk on April 2. The shooting inside a market reportedly claimed the lives of two persons and left another critically injured. Police said the accused had been evading arrest since the incident.

Authorities confirmed that the suspect has been shifted to the police station for further interrogation, while investigation into the double murder case is continuing.
