Kohat police arrest suspects in weapon display, robbery, triple murder cases

KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 5th Apr, 2026) District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, Shahbaz Elahi, has reiterated that brandishing firearms is not only a violation of law but also spreads fear and insecurity in society, stressing that no one will be allowed to take the law into their own

hands.

In line with these directives, Jungle Khel Police carried out an operation and arrested three suspects, Reshman, Abu Bakar, and Muneeb, for displaying weapons on social media. The accused had uploaded photos and videos with firearms, prompting immediate police action. Weapons were recovered from their possession, and cases have been registered for further investigation.

Separately, Saddar Police foiled a robbery attempt at a local bakery. The suspect, identified as Daud, allegedly held a salesman at gunpoint and fled with cash.

Acting on the orders of DPO Shahbaz Elahi, SHO Noor Muhammad and his team traced and arrested the accused using modern investigative methods. Police recovered the weapon, motorcycle,

and Rs. 19,000 in stolen cash from his possession.

In another major development, MRS Police apprehended a man involved in the murder of his wife and two sisters-in-law over domestic disputes.

The accused, Ruman son of Abdul Qayyum, originally from Bannu but residing in Kohat, had opened fire, killing three women and injuring another. Police arrested him along with the murder weapon, and further investigation is underway.

DSP Saddar Nazir Hussain Khan briefed the media, emphasizing that Kohat Police remain committed to upholding law and order and ensuring the safety of citizens.
