Kohat Police recover stolen goats as administration steps up Eid-ul-Azha preparations

KOHAT, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th May, 2026) Kohat Police on Tuesday successfully recovered 10 stolen goats in a swift operation, while the district administration intensified inspections and arrangements ahead of Eid-ul-Azha to ensure public convenience, security, and smooth management across the district.

According to police officials, complainant Riaz Ali informed Kohat Police that his goats had gone missing after being left for grazing in nearby fields. Acting on the directives of District Police Officer Shahbaz Elahi, SHO Adnan Khan and his team launched an immediate search operation and conducted raids at multiple locations. Police recovered all 10 goats from a house and returned them to the rightful owner, while the accused managed to escape. Officials said raids are continuing for the suspect’s early arrest.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz visited the central Eidgah to review arrangements for Eid-ul-Azha prayers, including cleanliness, drainage, and security measures. He directed all concerned departments to complete preparations on time to avoid inconvenience for worshippers.

The Deputy Commissioner also inspected the Kohat Cattle Market, where he reviewed sanitation, water supply, security, and administrative management, instructing officials to ensure proper facilities for traders and buyers.

On the directives of the district administration, Additional Assistant Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Ibrahim visited Bannu Road and Chungi No. 7 along with traffic police and Rescue 1122 officials to assess emergency preparedness and traffic management. He also inspected shops for compliance with official regulations and issued warnings to violators. Later, transport terminals serving Karak, Bannu, Mianwali, and Rawalpindi routes were inspected, where fare lists and ticket prices were found to be in line with the government-approved rates. Officials reaffirmed that inspections and monitoring would continue throughout the district to ensure safety, discipline, and public facilitation during the Eid holidays.
