RAWALPINDI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2026) Kohsar University Murree on Saturday awarded degrees to 432 graduates at its first convocation, marking a key milestone in the university’s academic journey.
Provincial Minister for Education Punjab, Rana Sikandar Hayat attended the ceremony as chief guest, while Vice Chancellor Dr. Rafia Mumtaz presided over the event and presented the convocation report.
A total of 51 students were awarded gold, silver and bronze medals for outstanding academic performance in various disciplines.
Addressing the ceremony, the provincial minister said the government was committed to promoting modern education, particularly in applied sciences, computing, biomedical and life sciences, management, humanities and social sciences to support regional development.
He congratulated the graduating students, particularly the ones attained distinctions.The minister described the graduates as a valuable asset for the country and urged them to utilise their skills for national development.
He announced provision of two pink buses for the university and said housing schemes for boys, girls, students and faculty would be included in the next year’s budget.
The vice chancellor highlighted the university’s academic and research progress and said efforts were underway to ensure complete digitalisation of the institution in line with modern requirements.
She said the university planned to introduce dual and joint degree programmes and expand international academic collaborations to provide students with global exposure.
All degrees were conferred on students from the university’s initial batches, while the ceremony concluded with the return of the academic procession followed by a reception attended by graduates, their families and faculty members.
The convocation was attended by a large number of students, faculties and parents.
