PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly here on Monday unanimously passed a resolution regarding the reinstatement of 106 dismissed employees of Provincial Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Agency (PERRA), who were involved in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the affected districts of Hazara division after the devastating earthquake of October 8, 2005.

The resolution stated that after the earthquake, the provincial body of PERRA and District Reconstruction Units (DRUs) were established in the districts to ensure effective implementation of Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) funded projects for rehabilitation and reconstruction.

Later, on November 24, 2021, in a meeting of the ERRA Council, it was decided that ERRA would be merged into National Disaster Management Authority, while PERRA and Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (SERRA) would be transferred to the respective provincial and state institutions.

The resolution further stated that all projects, liabilities, and employees were transferred in accordance with the responsibilities of the provinces under the 18th Constitutional Amendment, and in this regard, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government took steps for legislation under Article 144.

On June 20, 2025, the government approved a Non-ADP scheme for the salaries of 106 PERRA employees; however, they were later dismissed without notice, despite having served for the past 19 to 20 years.

The House termed this action unjust and recommended that the decision taken in the 34th Cabinet meeting be reconsidered, and all 106 employees be immediately reinstated and regularized under the 2018 regularization policy.

This resolution was presented by Member Provincial Assembly Mushahid Ghani and was unanimously approved by the House.
