PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi on Friday directed the authorities to accelerate tourism development, improve public service delivery, strengthen law and order, and ensure full preparedness for the monsoon season during a meeting on development projects and security in Hazara Division.
Chairing the meeting, the CM instructed officials to identify new tourist destinations in Kolai-Palas and Allai and said Rs500 million had been allocated under the Hazara Package for tourism-related projects.
He added that the allocation would be further enhanced to promote the tourism sector, said a pres release.
He also directed the appointment of a commission to permanently resolve the boundary dispute between Chaur Mali Valley and Balej Valley located between Kolai-Palas and Battagram.
Muhammad Sohail Afridi instructed district administrations to remain on high alert during the monsoon season and ensure the immediate implementation of contingency plans.
He also directed authorities to provide the best possible facilities and hospitality to domestic and foreign tourists, saying visitors play the role of ambassadors in promoting the province's positive image.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>The CM ordered the preparation of special traffic management plans for tourist destinations and urged district administrations to strengthen public engagement through open forums and by involving elected public representatives in public outreach activities.
He said the current financial year would be a year of peace, development and prosperity, adding that the provincial government had increased the police budget to further strengthen law and order.
During the meeting, officials informed the CM that work was underway on 139 development projects in Hazara Division under the Provincial Annual Development Programme.
The meeting was also told that 1,879 out of 2,111 complaints received through the Pakistan Citizen Portal had been resolved, more than 100 open public forums had been held under the government's open-door policy, land records had been fully digitised in Abbottabad and Battagram, while digitisation had reached 97 percent in Haripur and 90 percent in Mansehra.
Officials further said that 20 police facilitation centres were operational across the division, with six more under construction.
