KP CM reviews utilization of development funds, prioritizes health, education

PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Jun, 2026) Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi chaired an important meeting on Wednesday to review the utilization of development funds and progress on ongoing development initiatives across the province.

According to a spokesperson for the CM House, the meeting reviewed fund utilization under the KP Annual Development Programme (ADP), Merged Districts ADP, Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP), and foreign-funded development portfolio.

Officials gave a detailed briefing on the status of fund utilization and implementation of development projects.

According to the briefing, the Accelerated Implementation Programme (AIP) remained at the top with 92 percent utilization of released funds, followed by the Merged Districts ADP with 94 percent and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ADP with an 88 percent utilization rate.

The meeting was informed that progress on development projects across various sectors remained satisfactory and that the target of achieving full utilization of allocated funds would be attained soon.

CM Afridi expressed satisfaction over the effective use of development funds and progress on ongoing schemes.

Addressing the meeting, he said that health and education remained among the top priorities of the provincial government and that the upcoming Annual Development Programme (ADP) would place special focus on these sectors along with other social development areas.

He observed that the increasing pressure on hospitals in Peshawar required extraordinary attention and additional measures in the health sector to ensure improved service delivery.

The CM reiterated that no compromise would be made on providing quality and timely healthcare facilities to the public and directed authorities to prioritize projects of public importance and those nearing completion.

He emphasized that timely completion of development projects was essential for provincial progress and public welfare and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to extending the benefits of development initiatives to every region of the province.
