PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 29th Apr, 2026) Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah on Wednesday paid a surprise visit to various educational institutions and health centers here to review the quality of public services and assess facilities being provided to citizens.
During the visit, he was accompanied by the Additional Chief Secretary, Secretary Elementary and Secondary Education, and Secretary Health.
The CS visited the Dispensary EPI Center in Shaheen Muslim Town, Government Primary school No. 2 Gulbahar, and Government Shaheed Ahmad Elahi Technical Higher Secondary School Gulbahar.
He inspected the academic environment in schools, students’ attendance, teaching activities, and availability of basic facilities. At the health centers, he reviewed medical services being provided to patients, availability of medicines, and overall cleanliness arrangements.
Shahab Ali Shah also met patients and their attendants to gather firsthand information about treatment facilities and other services.
He also interacted with students to understand their interest in educational activities and to learn about the challenges they face.
Speaking on the occasion, the CS said that the provincial government was giving special attention to improving public services and that, under the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the health and education sectors had been given top priority in the Good Governance Roadmap.
He said the government was determining priorities for the upcoming fiscal year while keeping public needs and preferences in view so that further improvements could be made in basic facilities.
He urged the public to share their suggestions with relevant institutions for further improvement in the health and education sectors, adding that public participation was essential to making the service delivery system more effective.
