KP Excise Department seizes 5kg ice drug, 12kg charas

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Apr, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department foiled an attempt to smuggle narcotics during a major operation in Mardan, recovering 5,000 grams of ice (crystal meth) and 12,000 grams of charas.

According to details received from the Excise Department, the operation was conducted on a tip-off at Ring Road under the supervision of Majid Khan, Excise and Taxation Officer Counter Narcotics Operations, and Akif Nawaz, Circle Officer.

The raid was led by Shakeel Khan, SHO Excise Police Station Mardan, while Inspector Ajmal Lodhi, along with other personnel, took part in the action.

During the operation, officials searched vehicle No. RL-2561, from which 5,000 grams of ice and 12,000 grams of charas were recovered.

The recovered narcotics were taken into custody, and legal proceedings against the accused have been initiated. A case has also been registered for further investigation.

Under the provincial government’s zero-tolerance policy against narcotics, the Excise Department continues its operations across the province. Strict and indiscriminate action is being taken against such elements to protect the younger generation from the menace of drugs.
