PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 3rd Jul, 2026) Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Food, Muhammad Israr Khan on Friday directed the Food Department to modernise government wheat storage facilities and strengthen monitoring mechanisms to safeguard public wheat reserves.
The directives were issued during his visit to the government wheat warehouse in Mardan, where he reviewed the quality and quantity of stored wheat, warehouse capacity, storage systems, and safety arrangements.
He instructed officials to adopt efficient and transparent storage practices, ensure regular monitoring of wheat quality, and further improve security measures at government warehouses to protect public assets.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Israr Khan said effective management of wheat stocks was essential to preserving national resources and ensuring the uninterrupted availability of quality wheat and affordable flour to the public.
He added that the provincial government was committed to enhancing the operational capacity of the Food Department in line with the directives of Muhammad Sohail Afridi.
The special assistant stressed that strict oversight of government wheat reserves would remain a priority to protect public interests and maintain transparency in the province's food supply system.
