PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Mar, 2026) The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday approved the PC-II for the Warana–Maskan–Bannu Link Road under the district’s Annual Development Program, paving the way for improved connectivity between Karak and Bannu.
The approval follows efforts by Member Provincial Assembly Muhammad Sajjad Barakwal, while the consultancy phase has already been initiated.
Local residents have welcomed the development and called for extending the road length to 30 kilometers, instead of the proposed 16 kilometers, in line with directions issued by Chief Minister, Sohail Afridi during a South Region parliamentary meeting held on February 25.
The link road is expected to enhance inter-district connectivity, promote trade, and improve access to remote localities in the region.
Separately, significant infrastructure upgrades have been completed in Karak, including the successful paving of a long-pending road in Boland Kallay, said an official release.
The project was carried out under the supervision of DDAC Chairman Khursheed Khattak and MNA Shahid Khattak.
In addition, installation of modern streetlights has been finalized in Kalwart Bazaar, while work is ongoing in Mithakhel Bazaar, Kabeer Kallay Chowk, and Kabeer Kallay Mor to further improve urban infrastructure.
Residents have appreciated the completion of these projects, stating that the initiatives would enhance mobility, safety, and overall living standards in the area.
