KP HED, 5 organisations join hands to enhance students’ digital skills

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Apr, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department has signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with five organisations to equip students with market-relevant skills and expand their access to opportunities in the digital economy.

The partner organisations include the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board, TiE, Skill Squad, Migrant Resource Centre and Circle Women, which will collaborate on a range of capacity-building initiatives for students across the province.

Under the agreements, the KP IT board will provide training in digital skills and the IT economy, while TiE will facilitate opportunities for around 6,000 female students under its digitalisation and economic empowerment initiatives. Skill Squad will offer training in e-commerce and entrepreneurship to college students.

The Migrant Resource Centre will support capacity building of students and staff on safe and informed migration, whereas Circle Women will implement digital literacy programmes for female students in colleges.

Speaking on the occasion, Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi said the initiative aimed to strengthen linkages between academia and industry to better prepare students for evolving market demands.

He said the government was utilising all available avenues to expose students to opportunities in the digital world, adding that promotion of skill-based education remained a key priority in the province.

He expressed hope that these partnerships would open new avenues for students and enable them to meet future challenges effectively.
