ABBOTTABAD, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jul, 2026) Adviser to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Climate Change, Forests, Environment and Wildlife, Pir Musawir Khan has said that the provincial government was accelerating practical measures under the "Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Vision" and would plant 14 million saplings on August 14 to expand forest cover and combat climate change.
During a visit to Hazara Division, the adviser inspected the Nikpah Nursery in Galiyat, the Dawar Watershed and ongoing forestry projects. He said protecting forests, wildlife and natural resources remained the government's top priority, as they play a vital role in environmental sustainability, water conservation, flood mitigation and tourism promotion.
<?php /*?> <?php */?>Pir Musawir Khan directed officials to modernize forest nurseries, increase the production of quality saplings, promote indigenous tree species and strengthen watershed management. He also planted a commemorative sapling and reviewed conservation measures at the project sites.
He urged the public, local communities, youth, civil society and the media to actively participate in tree plantation campaigns and help prevent illegal logging and forest fires, saying the protection of forests is a shared national responsibility.
