PESHAWAR, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 30th Jun, 2026) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa board of Investment & Trade (KPBOIT) and Small & Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) jointly celebrate International Micro-Small and Medium Size Enterprises (MSME) Day 2026, Special Assistant to CM on industry Hamayun Khan was the Chief Guest.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade (KPBOIT), in collaboration with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA), commemorated International Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSME) Day 2026 through a joint event held in Peshawar.
The event brought together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening the MSME ecosystem in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The ceremony was chaired by Humayun Khan, Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Industries, as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Hassan Masood Kunwar, Vice Chairman KPBOIT, participated as the Guest of Honour.
The event was attended by representatives of various chambers of commerce and industry, trade associations, MSMEs, entrepreneurs, and officials from relevant government departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Humayun Khan highlighted the pivotal role of MSMEs in driving economic growth, employment generation, innovation, and regional development.
He reiterated the Provincial Government's commitment to creating an enabling business environment through policy reforms, investment facilitation, improved access to finance, and enhanced support services for entrepreneurs. He emphasized that empowering MSMEs is essential for achieving sustainable and inclusive economic development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He noted that MSMEs form the backbone of the provincial economy and that KPBOIT remains committed to working closely with SMEDA, chambers of commerce, development partners, and the private sector to enhance business competitiveness, attract investment, and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs across the province.
Representatives of SMEDA highlighted the organization's ongoing initiatives aimed at capacity building, business development services, technology adoption, market access, and financial inclusion for MSMEs.
They stressed the importance of collaboration among public institutions, private sector organizations, and development partners to build a resilient and competitive MSME sector.
Representatives from various chambers of commerce and MSMEs shared their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing small businesses in the province.
They appreciated the efforts of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, KPBOIT, and SMEDA in promoting entrepreneurship and facilitating business growth while emphasizing the need for continued policy support, improved access to finance, skills development, digital transformation, and enhanced market linkages.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment from all stakeholders to strengthen collaboration for the promotion of entrepreneurship and the sustainable growth of MSMEs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
