PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2026) On the directives of Director General, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA), Muhammad Usman Mehsud, an honorary ceremony was organized to pay tribute to pioneer of Pashto films, Aziz Tabassum.
The ceremony was organized by KPCTA in collaboration with Colors at Nishtar Hall in recognition of remarkable services of Aziz Tabassum for Pashto film industry.
The ceremony highlighted his invaluable contributions, artistic achievements and historic role in promoting cultural heritage through Pashto cinema. Participants paid rich tribute to Aziz Tabassum for his lifelong dedication and services to the industry.
On this occasion, Director Culture KPCTA, Shah Nawaz and prominent personalities including Asif Khan, Aman, Jameel Babar, Ajab Gul, Haji Aslam Khan, Hanif Khalil and office-bearers of the Global Pashto Jirga shared their views on his life, achievements and contributions to the Pashto film industry.
A documentary film based on the life of Aziz Tabassum and selected film clips were also screened during the ceremony.
The event featured live performances by Nadia Khan and Yousaf Khan on the famous song from the film Adam Khan Durkhanai.
Later, Faisal Khayal, son of Ustad Khayal Muhammad and Mishal Khan, grandson of Ustad Hidayatullah, enthralled the audience with live performances of classic film songs adding charm to the ceremony.
